How to start an Android Phone into Recovery Mode

What is recovery mode?

In Android, recovery refers to the dedicated, bootable partition that has the recovery console installed. A combination of key presses will boot your phone to recovery mode, where you can find tools to help repair (recover) your installation as well as install official and unofficial OS updates. Because Android is open and has the recovery source code available, building a customized version with more and different options is relatively easy as well. 

Starting an Android Device in Recovery Mode

• Power Down your device
• Hold volume + and - buttons together and hit the power button.
• Using the volume rocker go to Recovery Mode
• Hit Power button to select

Now your Android Device starts into Recovery Mode. if anything odd, just pull the battery and try again.
